Life has many special moments. The ones spent with friends are extra special. This book attempts to capture a few of those stories and funny incidents in a raw form as much as possible. At the institute, I was like one of the many other students who knew only one thing: study hard and get good results. The institute helped build my potential. The formative days at the institute were the foundation of my journey ahead. In a way, I built my entire career on that foundation. While the professors contributed their bit in my grooming, a significant share came from my branch mates. I learnt many good traits from them during our days together in the institute. The relationship grew as we spent more time facing the hardship. A bond started germinating between us. The new students coming to the campus dreaded ragging. I was no different. For me, and I can say with confidence for other branch mates too, it did more good than harm. It developed endurance in us without compromising our self-esteem. It groomed us to face real-life challenges such as hardships, difficulties, and insults. Many of those attributes are beneficial in professional life. The first-year students were called Murga. During the first few months on the campus, the Murgas needed to take a circuitous route between the hostels and the classrooms. That path was aptly named Murga Road. That was another life lesson. The effort put in the early stages of life readies you for the tougher days ahead. Do not choose comfort early on. The hardship early on can help manage the tougher days later. And we faced those tougher days in our professional lives. As the months passed and camaraderie between the students improved, many stories developed. Our journey and the stories associated with it became richer with every passing day. I witnessed many such interesting incidents during my stay on campus. There were many such incidents. Each of them was unique and funny. However, I have pulled six each from each of the four years of my stay on the campus. While they are funny, they also depict a mix of innocence, naughtiness, wit, and simplicity, all at the same time. The book is in a conversational format between me and my wife during a holiday in the Maldives. The conversation starts just before sunrise, passes through the morning, relaxes during the noon, glitters in the evening, and eventually concludes after dinner. When you read it, you may be able to connect with many of these stories, because there are a lot of similarities in life.
